“To achieve the highest accomplishments within the scope of our capabilities in all walks of life we must constantly strive to acquire strong, healthy bodies and develop our minds to the limit of our ability” Joseph H. Pilates
Hello my name is Patty Nader. I am a dedicated fitness professional who has been active for most of my life. I live in Libertyville with my husband Gregg, 3 teenagers, and my 3 dogs. I enjoy many types of activities such as bicycling, running, hiking, and just playing outside. I love to cook especially when I can use the fresh vegetables I grow in my garden. During quiet time, I enjoy knitting.
In my younger years I studied tap, jazz, and ballet dancing. In the 1980’s and early 90’s I worked part time as an aerobic instructor-teaching step, high/low impact aerobics, and body toning classes until becoming pregnant with my 3rd child.
I then decided to change directions in life and open a home-based dog grooming business to allow more time with my family. As I became busy running my business, my body became bigger; gaining 30lbs! With a balanced diet and fun exercise, I worked hard to lose the extra weight. All was going well until I ruptured my Achilles tendon in a Karate class. Recovery meant surgery, using crutches for 3 months, and several sessions of physical therapy.
That time in my life was a turning point. I returned to school, earned a degree in Health and Wellness Promotion, became certified in personal training, and renewed my group fitness certification. My goal was to teach others how to live a healthy lifestyle.
In the process of earning my degree, I discovered Classical Pilates which has been my passion ever since. Pilates develops core control, strength, stability, and flexibility. My body has truly transformed through Pilates training. I feel strong, lean, flexible, and at ease in my mind. I immersed myself in a comprehensive 500 hour Pilates teacher-training program and couldn’t wait to share the experience of Pilates with others. I have studied with many Pilates professionals and continue to learn each and every day.
I use the Pilates principals in all types of training whether it is running, cycling, or weight training. I have also taken workshops on indoor cycling and have taught several indoor cycle classes. My most recent endeavor was a weekend workshop in Tabata Bootcamp Training.
As a member of the Miss Fit team, I hope to work with many individuals sharing my diverse knowledge, experience, and passion for health and fitness while having fun.
